Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall Launches ‘Little Big Explorers’

Melbourne, Australia: This December, IHG’s Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall is inviting families to embark on a city adventure, like no other with its Little Big Explorers activation. The interactive, memory-making journey will connect young travellers with Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks, laneways, and local gems in a fun adventure across the CBD, and give them the chance to win a free stay.

Available for kids to participate exclusively during the Victorian school holiday period (December 22, 2025 – January 28, 2026), guests can request a complimentary ‘Little Big Explorers Pack’ at check-in, to assist in discovering some of Melbourne’s most beloved locations; Flinders Street Station, Federation Square, Royal Arcade, Bourke Street Mall, Hosier Lane and State Library Victoria.

The Explorers pack contains an explorer map, custom-designed explorer hat and coloured pencils. Following the map, little explorers are invited to answer a question about each landmark and sketch a related illustration on their map. Once the trail is complete, families can return their map to the front desk to unlock a QR code to enter the draw to win a complimentary two-night stay for their next visit.

To help fuel the adventure, the hotel’s family-focused restaurant, The Greenery, will be offering a daily pancake station at breakfast for participants with toppings including; maple syrup, sprinkles, jam, Tiny Teddies, lolly snakes, chocolate sauce, berries, Nutella and marshmallows. The pancake station adds to Holiday Inn’s ‘Kids Stay & Eat Free’ promise, where children 12 and under receive complimentary meals and accommodation when staying with an adult.
